Chevrolet Corvette Aerowagon Could Be Built By Callaway
If you've ever wanted to own a Chevrolet Corvette, but haven't been able to get past the perceived impracticality of a two-seat hatchback design, then Callaway Cars has a vehicle that you might be interested in. The Callaway Corvette Aerowagon grafts an extended cargo compartment onto the C7 'Vette, adding extra cargo capacity while preserving its sleek looks.
One of the more interesting aspects of the Corvette Aerowagon conversion is its low cost. Callaway estimates that the entire adaptation of the Corvette's current design could price out at roughly $15,000. Although not destined for production as of yet, Callaway has released renderings of what the final product could look like in order to gauge potential customer reaction to the concept.
Does the Corvette really need that much more cargo space? As it stands now, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette already provides generous room underneath its rear hatch, more than enough for the luggage needs of a pair of passengers. The Callaway Corvette Aerowagon is more of a fashion statement than a truly practical daily driver, but it's one that successfully catches the eye and extends the Corvette's styling palette in an intriguing direction.
