Ford is developing a car that can park itself without the assistance of a real driver.  The technology is called Fully Assisted Parking Aid and is being tested in Europe.

"Imagine you're in a parking garage and the only spot available is too small to open your door," Ford spokesman Scott Fosgard said in an interview. "This would let you get out, and it would park for you. Then when you want to leave, it pulls out and lets you in."

The vehicle uses sensors to scan parking lots for suitable spaces. Once one is found, the driver engages the system by placing the vehicle in neutral and pressing a button via remote. The vehicle takes control of the steering, acceleration, and braking to park itself.
