Mercedes-Benz presented a concept of a future SUV Coupe based on its very successful ML at the Beijing Auto Show.

Following the launch of the BMW X6 in 2008, a lot of people scoffed at it, thinking the weird SUV-Coupe-4 Door thing would be ridiculed by buyers, and that the Bavarian manufacturer would not sell any of them. 6 years and 236,000 units later, a lot of automakers now wish they had jumped into that market sooner!

Mercedes-Benz will try to steal some sales from the X6, which is basically unchallenged in its segment. To do this, the German automaker will follow the same approach as BMW: take its most popular SUV (in this case, the ML), and offer less interior space in it.

We know that the ML Coupe (possibly named the MLC-Class) will feature a V6 engine mated to a 9-speed automatic, and be paired with the 4Matic AWD system.

The vehicle is also equipped with an air suspension, and sports huge 22 inches wheels.
