BMW B6 Alpina xDrive Gran Coupe: American Launch in New York

For nearly 50 years, Alpina has been known in Europe as a tuner for BMW’s vehicles. They work in close relation with the Bavarian manufacturer. Nowadays, they offer cars through BMW dealerships, sometimes with factory warranty!

In North America, much of the Alpina lineup is forbidden to us: no D3, no B3, no B4 and certainly no XD3! The only vehicle sold over here was the B7 Biturbo, to fill in for the lack of an M version of the 7 Series.

At the New York Auto Show, BMW will finally offer another Alpina model, the B6 Biturbo Gran Coupe. Based on the 6 Series, it will cost 118,000$ dollars, which means it will be the new range-topper, over the M6 GC. It is also faster (0-100 in 3.7 sec, 318 km/h top speed), and while being 20 HP less than the M6, it boasts an additional 40 lb-ft of torque, making it more driveable in everyday situations.

The Alpina B6 Biturbo xDrive Gran Coupe will be offered in BMW dealerships in a few months.
