It would seem that the last scene in the seventh opus of the Fast and Furious franchise has been filmed, effectively completing the shooting. The production team still needs to edit the movie and add the special effects (and Paul Walker's digital double), but they are confident they can get the movie in theatres on April 3rd, a week before the initial release date.

That filming was however not an easy one. After Paul Walker's death, the scenario had to be re-written to give a proper sendoff to the actor's character, Brian O'Connor. Then, a digital double had to be created to appear in some scenes where Paul could not be removed. And finally, the two remaining sons of the Walker family, Caleb and Cody, had to come lend a hand to the shooting, appearing in scenes where the digital double could not be placed.

In a Facebook message, the production team wanted to thank their legions of fans who motivated them to keep going when Paul Walker died. They also took the opportunity to make the announcement of the new release date.

We can't wait for the first screening of this movie, and we hope that the studios found a credible way to modify it to fit around the death of one of its main actors.
