A Different Kind of Toyota Camry

Toyota Camry Sleeper

In the drag racing scene, there are some drivers that announce their colours loudly: garish paint job, rumbling exhaust, modified suspension geometry, visible engine... These cars may be fast, but you generally know they mean business the second you lay eyes on them.

The most dangerous racers are the sleepers, a type of car that looks like it could belong to your grandma until it starts burning through its rear tires, and you realize that victory won't be so easily won after all.

Toyota just created the ultimate member of this category. They took stock Camry bodywork and installed a custom tubular chassis underneath. There is also a pair of large road-legal slicks underneath the fenders, and the car is powered by an 850 horsepower 5.7L V8 with a supercharger and a nitrous kit. This power is sent to the rear wheels.

This Camry should annihilate the quarter mile in 9.8 seconds (I never thought I would write that sentence).
