A Fitting End For The Mitsuoka Orochi

Mitsuoka Orochi Evangelion

We previously announced the end of the Mitsuoka Orochi, the unbelievably ugly car produced and sold in Japan.

However, the Final edition that was announced was a letdown. A car so unique deserved more than Pearl White paint and some unique wheels to mark its passing!

This opinion was shared by Mitsuoka's design department: by unveiling the Orochi Evangelion (a reference to the popular Japanese anime), they gave the car the send-off it deserved. 11 units will be built.

What’s different on the Evangelion Edition? If you couldn’t guess by looking at the pictures, it’s the unique paintjob (and you may need to go see an oculist). It fits the Orochi more than it would any other car, and it has the advantage of making these cars unique: wherever you park, you will be able to find it easily.

According to our sources, the designers had the idea for this paint scheme when one of their workers accidently ran an Orochi through a paint store.

This (abstract) work of art can be yours for as little as $140,000. For that price, you still get the 3.5 litre Toyota V6 that comes from a Camry, coupled with an automatic gearbox.
