A RAM That Almost Hit 160 km/h!

Ever heard of the Raminator? It’s a Monster Truck sponsored by RAM, and it currently competes in arenas and infields against other huge trucks.

When you take a look at this massive vehicle, you immediately start asking yourself how many cars it could jump, what it would feel like to drive, how high it could propel itself…

One thing we don’t suspect is how fast these things can go; during a regular event, they rarely go over 50 km/h, and they weigh 5000 kg. However, Raminator is also powered by a 9.2-litre supercharged V8 that can generate up to 2000 horsepower, so the potential for speed is definitely there.

The team behind Raminator decided to see just how fast their truck could go. They used the straight at the COTA circuit in Texas, lined up the RAM at one end and floored the throttle. A representative from Guinness World Records was there to certify the vehicle’s top speed.

Raminator eventually hit 159.4 km/h, making it the fastest Monster Truck ever made!
