2014 Vehicles That Best Held Their Initial Value
Each year, NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association) awards prizes to the brand-new vehicles that retain the highest percentage of their initial value.
First place goes to one of the most popular cars of the year, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (the 1LT with automatic transmission, to be more precise). With the help of strong demand and limited inventories, the sports car held 84.7% of its initial value. The runners-up were the Subaru Forester (81.8%), the Toyota Highlander, the Toyota 4Runner and the Nissan Rogue.
At the other end of the spectrum, we find some vehicles that were not exactly showered in praise by the journalistic community: the Fiat 500L, the Kia Forte Sedan and the Chevrolet Impala, among others. But the award for the car that lost the most value in 2014 was given to the Mitsubishi Mirage. The city car lost almost half of its value, only managing to keep 54.5% of it after one year.
