Right now, the trend has shifted towards murdered out vehicles: wearing no chrome and painted entirely black, this trend started with big Cadillac Escalades that prowled the East Coast. Manufacturers are now decorating their vehicles this way, and truck builders especially seem to like this style.

At the upcoming Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet is planning to unveil a blacked-out Silverado. With 18 inch wheels, unique front grille and headlight bezels, fog lights and side mouldings all painted black, the truck definitely stands out from its more colourful siblings.

This Midnight Edition Silverado is based on the Z71 model, so it comes with an off-road suspension, Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, a locking rear diff and a bed liner. The towing package and hill descent control are also standard, just like the heated mirrors and back-up sensors.

Only 1,500 units will be built, and pricing is expected to be around $1,500-$2,000 more than the regular Z71. We should see the Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition at the Chicago Auto Show.
