First Sketches Of The 2016 Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai’s small SUV, the Tucson, is well-liked around here; it has proven its worth ever since its launch in 2004 and is now in its second iteration. However, the current generation has been with us for 5 years now, and it’s starting to show its age, especially when you park it next to the newest members of the Hyundai lineup.

It's time for the manufacturer to modernize the Tucson to keep it relevant. We will see the final version at the Geneva Auto Show, but in the meantime, Hyundai has sent us a drawing highlighting a few of the important design cues.

We can make out a more angular and dynamic silhouette, which will fit well with the rest of Hyundai’s lineup. While some details are still missing, we can expect a very high beltline, shrouded headlights (which will probably house some LEDs), pointy fog lights and a low hood.

Some parts of the drawing, like the huge wheels, full grille and the lack of door handles will probably not make it to the final version… We hope.

The final version of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson will be unveiled on March 3, at the Geneva Auto Show.
