Infiniti Prepares Its Compact SUV For Geneva

At the upcoming Geneva Auto Show, Infiniti will unveil the QX30 Concept, a new vehicle that will give it a foothold in the very lucrative compact luxury SUV segment alongside the Mercedes-Benz GLA and the Audi Q3.

In an effort to drum up interest before the big reveal, Infiniti teased us with its first shot of the concept, which you can see above. While there isn’t much to go on, we can see that the vehicle will feature LED taillights, a high beltline and large exhaust exits integrated into the rear bumper. We can also make out the extended fenders, which seem to be made of plastic.

A few rumours about the QX30 are quite interesting; according to some anonymous sources, the vehicle could be based on the Mercedes-Benz MFA platform, which currently underpins the GLA. This would mean that the little SUV would probably feature the 2-litre turbocharged German engine as standard. It could also be an indicator that a spicier version of the vehicle (with the GLA45’s powerplant, maybe?) could be in the works…

We will have to wait until March 3rd to see the QX30 in the flesh.
