The Kia SPORTSPACE Concept Is A Beautiful Wagon

We have already talked about Kia’s upcoming concept, set to be unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show. The first teaser shot that we saw showed the front end of a very attractive vehicle that we thought was the upcoming Optima.

The full car was revealed today, and we woke up to a very pleasant surprise: the concept is not just a regular sedan, but a wonderful station wagon.

Good job, Kia.

Dubbed the SPORTSPACE Concept, the stylish car may suggest that a wagon version of the Optima is in the works. Keep in mind that it’s a concept, so don’t expect the retractable door handles, huge center console or small exterior mirrors to make it to production. However, we hope that the general shape of the car remains, as there are few sleek wagons left on our roads, and the first manufacturer to re-launch the segment might be rewarded with substantial sales figures.

However, there are a few obstacles between this concept and having a 2016 Optima wagon in your driveway. First, there is no guarantee that this car will even be produced. Even worse, if it ever does see production, Kia might end up selling the wagon only in Europe, like so many manufacturers are currently doing…

We will at least be able to feast our eyes on the Kia SPORTSPACE concept at the Geneva Motor Show, which opens on March 3rd.
