Once again, tuners have given us an answer to a question nobody asked: what happens when you take a truck designed for running through the desert at breakneck speeds and double its original horsepower rating?

Here is the Shelby Baja 700.

Based on the chassis of the already quick Ford Raptor, the Baja 700 receives a long list of equipment: tubular bumpers, auxiliary lights, an off-road suspension which stands 3 inches higher than stock and features remote-mounted reservoirs, an interior restyled by Katzkin and 18-inch wheels shod in BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires.

However, the most impressive modifications are under the hood: with the addition of a 2.9-litre Whipple supercharger, larger injectors, bigger throttle bodies and a loud Borla Exhaust, the Baja 700 gives you more than 700 horsepower to play with.

Production will be capped at 500 units, and each will be adorned with a commemorative plate on the dashboard. If you want to drive the fastest truck around, be prepared to pay $45,000 USD… In addition to the price of the standard Ford Raptor, which you have to supply.
