The First 2015 Ford Mustang To Hit 200 mph

Typically, Ford Mustangs are built to be beautiful, accelerate fast and burn through their rear tires. However, with the arrival of the 2015 models, Ford added handling and frugality (with their EcoBoost four-cylinder mill).

Top speed wasn't exactly high up the list of priorities for Ford's engineers; since most people won't ever top even 200 km/h, they thought it wasn't necessary to push the car's capabilities further.

However, John Hennessey isn't like most people.

Using a 2015 Mustang GT and its 435 horsepower V8 as a base, the Texas tuner shop added lots of high-performance parts -most notably a supercharger- and achieved impressive results; the Mustang HPE 750 boasts 774 horsepower.

Hennessey then wanted to prove its latest pony car could hang out in the 200+ mph club. Using Continental's 8.5-mile Texas test track, Hennessey pushed the car to 207.9 mph (334.6 km/h).

As a reminder, you can get your very own Hennessey HPE750 for $70,000 USD.
