Every vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup eventually receives a high-performance AMG version. Apart from a few exceptions, every sedan, wagon and SUV bearing the silver star has at least one version with a big engine that can roast its tires without much trouble. When the latest version of the C63 (and its even more powerful S variant) sedan was launched, we expected that the coupe version would follow.

And we were right; here is the 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, which was revealed a few weeks before the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Styling-wise, the C63 distinguishes itself from the plebeian base-model C-Class Coupe with an aggressive front bumper and splitter, an aluminium hood, a rear spoiler and AMG's iconic four-tip exhaust. The car sort of looks like a mini S63, which is a very good thing.

Under the aforementioned hood sits a twin-turbo V8 displacing 4 litres and developing 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. With the help of AMG's MCT seven-speed automatic transmission, the car can scoot from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds flat. If you decide that isn't enough for you, there is always the S version, which extracts 503 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque from the same engine. The S shaves a tenth of a second from the 0-100 km/h spring and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h (or 290 km/h if you select the Driver's Package option).

To put all this power to the ground, the C63 has a sport-tuned suspension that can be electronically adjusted, a wider track and a limited-slip differential, as well as dynamic motor mounts on the S versions.

The 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe should arrive in German dealerships in March, and dealerships worldwide shortly thereafter.
