Just in case the BMW M5’s most powerful iteration – the 30 Yahre, which was unveiled to celebrate 30 years of the powerful German super-sedan and packed 600 horsepower– isn’t quite enough for you, Alpina has come to the rescue: the gorgeous car you see in the above pictures is the Alpina B5 Biturbo, an even hotter version of the M5.

How so? First of all, it seems that Alpina didn’t exactly like the seven-speed DCT transmission, since they replaced it with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The 4.4-litre V8 is still sitting under the hood, but it receives a new pair of turbochargers, a better injection system, sturdier pistons, no less than three additional intercoolers and a new oil cooling system. Buyers can choose to get an Akrapovic exhaust system for even more power.

Speaking of power, the B5 is overflowing with it. Its 600 horsepower are enough to make it bolt from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 328 km/h. Not bad for a large four-door!

In Europe, two versions of the B5 Biturbo will be available: a sedan and a station wagon. Even if the sedan was to become available here – which isn’t yet confirmed – you can be sure the five-door will never cross the Atlantic… that’s a shame.
