Takata’s massive airbag recall, which we haven’t talked about for a while, just came back on the forefront as Honda just added 20,000 vehicles to the list of concerned models.

As a reminder, Japanese safety equipment manufacturer Takata was accused of selling a defective airbag model to a large number of manufacturers. When the airbag inflates, it can explode too violently and send shrapnel into the driver’s face. More than a few people have been injured and some have even been killed because of this.

The latest vehicle to be affected is the 2003-2004 Honda CR-V; Transport Canada just announced that 17,990 of these SUVs were fitted with faulty airbags.

If your vehicle is affected (or you think it might be), Honda Canada set up a toll-free information line at 1-877-445-7754. If you have an Acura, you can make sure your vehicle is safe by calling 1-877-445-9844.
