A Kia SUV Concept At Detroit

The Detroit Auto Show opens its doors on January 11th, and more than one manufacturer has already signified its intention of unveiling an all-new concept there.

Kia will join the fray, and the first we can see of their offering is the above teaser shot: according to the manufacturer, the golden SUV in the picture will bear new technologies and ideas.

First of all, we are told that the vehicle will bring a new design language to the brand. For now, we can see it has a boxy profile, large haunches, straight profile and vertical taillights, but there are obviously more details to be seen.

Kia also mentions that there will will be a few novel techs in its concept that are supposedly about health and well-being of its occupants.

Finally, the size and shape of the vehicle is an interesting indication about a possible production model. It would be nice for Kia to have another full-size SUV (like the late Borrego), since this type of vehicle is getting more and more popular because of fuel prices. This theoretical new SUV could also share its bones with the upcoming Genesis SUV, which would help keep costs down...
