DETROIT, Michigan – the Stuttgart automaker is on a roll. After unveiling the new generation of its 911, equipped with more fuel-efficient powertrains, it’s the Turbo version’s turn to get some attention – the one we’ve always dreamed about. Enthusiasts will be glad to learn that it gets an extra 20 horsepower, now rated at 540 hp. As if that wasn’t enough, the Turbo S variant also gains more muscle with a total of 580 horses.

This new edition of the beast already needs less than 3.0 seconds to blast from 0 to 100 km/h in Turbo guise, and 2.9 seconds for the Turbo S. On the show floor, two configurations were presented, a coupe and a cabriolet. As far as styling enhancements go, the 2017 model gets new 20-inch wheels, in addition to new LED driving lights that are integrated in the front fascia.

The front end also gets larger air openings for maximizing cooling. Mechanically, several new technologies have been added, such as the Dynamic Boost function that optimizes engine response. The car also boasts a Sport Response Button that further enhances throttle and gearbox response for 20-second bursts.

This improved 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo should reach Canadian dealerships at the beginning of summer, but will hit the European market in January.
