2016 Cadillac CT6: We're Driving It This Week

Published on January 18, 2016 in Spotlight on by Benjamin Hunting

This week The Car Guide is in Los Angeles, California to drive the 2016 Cadillac CT6. This all-new full-size sedan from Detroit's leading luxury brand is intended to take over from the current Cadillac XTS when that model leaves the line-up in the near future - but more importantly, it also showcases Cadillac's new trends in technology and design in a bid to pull even with its European competitors.

There are three engine options available with the CT6, ranging from a 272 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder unit up to a 400 horsepower twin-turbo V6, and like its CTS line-up mate, the CT6 offers rear-wheel drive dynamics. An eight-speed automatic is the only gearbox available with the sedan, and Cadillac engineers have done their best to keep its curb weight low: the CT6's mass matches that of several class-below four-doors. Magnetically adaptive suspension and available rear-steering round out the list of intriguing features packed into the Cadillac, and a plug-in hybrid model is also on the horizon.

Check back with us next week to get our full driving impressions on the Cadillac CT6.
