If you are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Ford's next super-Focus, you will be happy to learn that the Saarlouis, Germany plant –which receives the Focus shells and modifies them to create the RS - announced that the very first unit just rolled out of the assembly plant.

The sporty car – which is currently on display at the Montreal Auto Show - will be a blast to drive: fitted with a 2.3-litre, EcoBoost four-cylinder developing 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, an AWD system and a six-speed manual transmission, the small Ford can get from zero to 100 km/h in as little as 4.7 seconds – about the same as the Mustang GT.

Price-wise however, the Focus RS will not be cheap: its price of $46,969 (!) makes it more expensive than a V8-powered Mustang with the Performance Package… We can’t wait to put these two in a head-to-head comparative match!
