2016 Honda Pilot to hit Canadian dealers in late July

The redesigned—and much more "Honda-looking"—2016 Honda Pilot is set to go on sale July 31 with a sticker price starting at $35,490.

The new Pilot, which replaces a rather boxy predecessor, will pack a more powerful 3.5-litre direct-injected V6 engine that makes 280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque mated to either six- or nine-speed automatic transmissions.

Both gearboxes are new for the third generation Pilot.

Only the base LX model is available in front-wheel drive, with all other trim levels featuring all-wheel drive as standard equipment.

All-wheel drive is also available on the Pilot LX.

The top of the line Touring trim tops out at $50,490.
