Hyundai IONIQ Electric will have 250-kilometre driving range
More details about the Hyundai IONIQ, dubbed the "world's first vehicle with three electrified powertrains," are trickling out ahead of its Geneva auto show debut.
Hyundai says the electric version of the IONIQ features an electric motor that makes 118 horsepower and 218 lb.-ft. of torque and a 28-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, and is good for an estimated driving range of more than 250 kilometres.
Both the hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions come with a new 1.6-litre direct-injected four-cylinder, with the former working in conjunction with a 43-horsepower electric motor and a 1.56-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, and the latter a 60-horsepower electric motor and 8.9-kWh battery.
The IONIQ Hybrid's total system output is 139 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque.
The IONIQ Plug-in Hybrid, meanwhile, has an estimated electric driving range of 50 kilometres, though the automaker didn't say what its total system output was.
