If you're in the market for a Shelby GT350 Mustang, Ford is adding some extra incentive: A free performance driving school course.

New and existing owners—Canadians included, a Ford rep confirmed—of 2015 and 2016 GT350 and GT350R models who register will head to the former Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, southwest of Salt Lake City, to participate in the so-called "GT350 Track Attack program" put on by the Ford Performance Racing School.

The program, according to Ford, will teach participants high-performance driving skills, including braking, shifting and cornering techniques, with a focus on the dynamics of the GT350 and GT350R.

"(The Shelby) GT350 is a car that needs to be experienced on a closed road course," Ford Performance marketing manager Jim Owens said in a statement.

"The program is designed for owners to learn how to get the most out of their car so they can appreciate the unique performance (the car) delivers, while also gaining driving skills and experience."

The program is a one-day performance driving school featuring both classroom and on-track driving tutorials with Ford Performance Racing School instructors, according to Ford, though a second track day, as well as additional driving and non-driving programs, can be added.

Owners do not need to bring their own cars, though they are responsible for their own travel to and from Utah and lodging, Ford said.

"Regardless of a person’s driving ability, this will be an unbelievable experience," Ford Performance Racing School president Dan McKeever said. "From the weekend track warrior to the car collector, this program provides the skills needed to really enjoy (the) Shelby GT350 Mustang in the environment for which it is designed."
