This is What the Ford Bronco Might Look Like

Ford Everest

Yesterday, we announced the glorious return of the Ford Bronco within the next few years. Lots of you (as well as myself, I'll admit) immediately imagined a direct competitor to the Jeep Wrangler, a squared-off SUV with two doors and a direct descendant to the last Bronco, sold in 1996.

Sadly, I think I may bear bad news here: the Bronco might not turn out to be what we're expecting. If the theory brought forth by Jalopnik is true, we might already know what the SUV will look like.

So, here it is:

If you are not familiar with the above vehicle, this is the Ford Everest, sold elsewhere in the world. It is a rugged four-door truck with solid off-road credentials thanks to its body-on-frame construction.

Which frame? The one found underneath the Ranger, the midsize pickup which is also sold abroad. Both models are built in the same assembly plants, in Thailand and Argentina. It would then make sense that Ford would bring the Everest here when the Ranger—who was also confirmed for a return in the next years—will arrive... And they might just rebadge it Bronco to revive the legendary name.
