If you own a 2016 Kia Optima equipped with the 2.4-litre engine, you might want to check out the manufacturer's latest recall: 575 units of the Korean sedan will have to go back to the dealer for some rather important repairs.

On those cars, the passenger side axle shaft could fail. This could result in a loss of vehicle propulsion which could increase the risk of a crash. This could also allow the vehicle to roll away if parked on a sufficient slope, despite the transmission shift lever being set in the PARK position.

The cars will be inspected by the dealership, if a fault is found, the front right halfshaft will be replaced without charge.
