Christmas Gift Ideas: Combining Cars and Furniture for Christmas

For true car lovers, the more they surround themselves with objects that remind them of their passion, the happier they are. Often, that means scale models or pens featuring their favourite manufacturer’s logo. There are also decorative objects, like posters or frames filled with beautiful photographs.

Some people even go a step further with automobile-themed furniture.

There are several types of automobile furniture, and we’ll discuss three of them here: those inspired by cars, those that incorporate automobile parts and those that simply belong in a garage.

First off, with automobile-inspired furniture, the theme is generally very obvious. For example, you can get a pool table that resembles a 1965 Ford Mustang or Corvette. There are also smaller items like lamps with the emblem of an automaker or racing team.

Next, there’s furniture created using car parts. One example would be a table made from an engine block, but more outrageous items in this category include night tables made from cylinder heads or sinks made from an automatic transmission. There’s even an extreme case of a man who had his totaled Ferrari compacted and the remains enclosed in a glass box, creating a work of art as a daily reminder of the day he lost control of his Italian stallion.

Finally, there are rather interesting uses for furniture traditionally restricted to the garage. A quick Internet search can yield some wild ideas, like covering a mechanic’s tool chest with a marble slab to make a kitchen island or even creating a bathroom sink using a cleaning tank.
