2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Adds Flashy New Colour

Even before the first few copies of the brand new 2021 Mustang Mach-E reach their customers, Ford is already adding a colour option.

Exclusively available on the top-line GT model, Cyber Orange pays tribute to a long line of Mustangs from the past.

Orange first appeared on a Mustang in 1965, one year after the pony car’s debut. It returned in 1977 and evolved quietly over time.

With the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover marking a radical departure from the coupe we all know and love, Ford to appears to be looking for ways to appease purists and prove that the Mach-E indeed deserves to wear a Mustang badge.

“Mustang has always turned heads and Mustang Mach-E will be no exception.” said Dave Pericak, director, Ford Icons. “We can’t wait for Cyber Orange to hit the streets on Mustang Mach-E GT next year to fuel the passion of our orange Mustang fans.”

Cyber Orange and Dark Matter Gray join the list of colours for the Mustang Mach-E GT. Other options include Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, Grabber Blue, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver and Space White (who comes up with these names, anyway?).

In GT trim, the new Mustang Mach-E generates 459 horsepower and 612 pound-feet of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. No other Mustang in history is quicker, by the way, not even the 760-horsepower 2020 Shelby GT500.

Deliveries of the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT are expected to begin in late summer 2021. Others will arrive by the end of this year.
