2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line Revealed With Sharper Looks

As promised, Hyundai is expanding its eighth-generation Sonata lineup with a new N Line model boasting sharper looks and offering increased performance. Tuesday’s reveal comes on the heels of the freshly announced Elantra N Line.

The midsize sedan already impressed many folks when it debuted in completely redesigned attire for 2020. This time, it goes even further with a more aggressive-looking front fascia that incorporates a unique cascading grille with an N Line badge plus three revised air intakes below.

The Sonata N Line also stands out with side skirts, 19-inch alloy wheels, a sleek black lower bumper punctuated by an N Line diffuser and dual twin exhausts, not to mention a subtle rear spoiler in contrasting black finish.

Inside, designers cranked things up a notch with dark chrome accents on the steering wheel, centre console and more, plus signature N Line red stitching on the steering wheel and sport seats.

“The 2021 Sonata N Line will attract more customers to both the rock-solid Sonata lineup and our increasingly popular N Line sub-brand,” said SangYup Lee, Head of the Hyundai Global Design Center. “Sonata N Line will appeal to customers who desire sporty styling in a sedan package.”

As for performance, look for a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque from just 1,650 rpm (same engine as the new 2021 Kia K5). An eight-speed N dual-cluch transmission handles shifting.

The 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line will go on sale in December in a single, fully loaded model priced at $37,999.
