This Ferrari F355 Spider Owned by Shaquille O'Neal Could be Yours

In the mid-1990s, Ferrari launched an updated version of the 348 called F355, which soon captured the attention of one of the greatest basketball players of all time – Shaquille O'Neal.

The new member of the Los Angeles Lakers purchased a 1998 model and had it modified to fit his colossal physique. The car is now for sale on the auction website Bring a Trailer.

Remember, Shaq stands 7’1’’ tall, so the retractable soft top was replaced by a custom cover and the fuel tank was moved to the front. Meanwhile, the interior features bolstered aftermarket seats with black and silver upholstery as well as Superman-logo headrest stitching (“Superman” is one of his many nicknames, in case you forgot).

No modifications were made to the powertrain, which consists of a 3.5-litre V8 engine producing 375 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque via an F1-style, electro-hydraulic transmission system. By the way, Ferrari also introduced a track-ready variant called F355 Challenge.

According to Bring a Trailer, Shaq’s old F355 Spider has logged 7,400 miles (11,900 kilometres). Bidding ends on December 30, and while the car will likely fetch a high price due to its famous past owner (not the current one), it pales in comparison to prestigious Ferraris that recently went on the block including a 2003 Enzo.
