Nissan GT-R T-Spec is Another Special Edition to Keep Us Waiting
After announcing a special edition of the GT-R NISMO with a very small number of models available for sale in Canada this winter, Nissan is now adding a GT-R T-spec that will also have a limited production. The reveal took place on Tuesday in Japan, which explains the right-hand-drive units shown in the pictures.
The car stands out with wider front fenders than the previous Track Edition, gold-painted RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels and a carbon fibre rear spoiler. There are body-coloured mirror caps, black hood ducts and “T-spec” badging, not to mention carbon ceramic brakes with brake air guides from the GT-R NISMO.

The highlight of the new Nissan GT-R T-spec, however, is the choice of two iconic body colours: Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple. The former was previously offered on the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür, one of the rarest GT-Rs ever with only 718 units produced (156 finished in Millennium Jade). The latter is a modern interpretation of the Midnight Purple III from the R34 V-Spec, which was limited to 132 units, and the 2014 special edition Midnight Opal R35 GT-R that was limited to only 100 units worldwide.
Inside, you’ll find a special Mori Green colour, premium semi-aniline leather-appointed seats with pearl suede accents, quilted Alcantara headliner and additional T-spec badging.
The engine is the same twin-turbocharged V6 that motivates the regular GT-R, producing 565 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system.
Canadian pricing for the Nissan GT-R T-spec starts at $162,498 plus $2,500 destination and handling. As for the GT-R NISMO Special Edition, customers will have to pay a whopping $279,498. That’s right, it costs more than the latest Porsche 911 Turbo S. Ever imagined that a production Nissan could be this expensive?
