Many Popular Mazda Models to Get Suna Edition for 2024

As you probably know by now, Mazda’s 2024 model lineup is expanding with the addition of the all-new CX-90 and CX-70. We’ve already driven the former and shared our first impressions, while the latter is expected to debut pretty soon.

Other Mazda vehicles will have something new to offer, as well, including the Suna Edition that was announced today. It will be available on a trio of popular models—Mazda3 Sport, CX-30 and CX-5—plus the city-oriented MX-30 electric crossover.

Similar to the previously released Kuro Edition, the new Suna Edition will feature gloss black exterior flourishes such as black metallic alloy wheels, side mirrors and front grille. At the same time, it will differ with its own unique colour scheme. Suna is a Japanese word for “sand,” so a Zircon Sand Metallic exterior paint colour will be offered (it’s also available on the CX-50).

Inside, expect a blend of materials and colours such as terracotta upholstery with black suede inserts, combined with terracotta stitching and gunmetal accents to create a rich and classy cabin.

Naturally, Mazda will retain the services of its top-performing four-cylinder engine, namely the Skyactiv-G 2.5 Turbo paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive. This powertrain produces up to 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft. of torque on premium 93 octane fuel, or 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque on regular 87 octane fuel.

There are no other details to share at this point, unfortunately. Pricing and specific features for the new Suna Edition will be announced when Mazda introduces its 2024 models.
