Audi RS5 : The German « Muscle Car »

The Audi A5 is already considered one of the best looking coupés of the industry. Imagine this unique vehicle with large air intakes flanking it’s attractive grille, with proper fitting apron and deflectors, without forgetting the presence of alloy sport rims of 19 or 20 inches (48,3 or 50,8 cm). Note that the back aileron deploys automatically, as the car exceeds 120 km/h. In addition, the frame of the RS5 has been lowered by 20 mm, compared to the base model.

The interior of this vehicle shows an undeniable sport look, with it’s passenger compartment all dressed in black, associated to carbon and even to high quality leather insertions. The Audi S5 is a four-seat coupé, that’s all there is to it...

The “RS” letters must be earned

When the letters « S » or « RS » are signed, pleasure is to be expected. Also, it means that the minute inner works have been highly researched and developed.

In this way, the lightning fast Audi is graced with a 4,2 litre V8 FSI engine, with only a claimed 450 HP and a 430 Nm of torque between 4 000 and 6 000 rpm. Offered only in the Quattro AWD version, it is coupled to an S-Tronic seven speed transmission box, with a gear changing device on the steering wheel.

According to the manufacturer’s figures, the good looking Audi RS5 runs from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.6 seconds. Top speed claimed is of 280 km/h, but it  can be electronically limited to 250 km/h. Average fuel consumption would be of 10,8 L/100 km, just a little more thirsty than my Hyundai Accent 2000...
