There’s nothing like a good barbecue and ice cream to satisfy your hunger in the summer, but when you’re away on vacation or taking a road trip, far from your grill and freezer, you can find some delicious alternatives by looking out for food trucks. They’ve become increasingly popular around the world, and while some are renowned for their meals, others impress just as much if not more with their unique design.

Here are the coolest food trucks on the planet (a couple are just plain weird), starting with the Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill truck in Kansas City, built from an old Chevrolet S10 pickup.

The Maximum Minimus in Seattle will make any pork lover drool.

Meanwhile, the Horny Pig in Italy is a curious food truck based on a Fiat Multipla.

Del Popolo in San Francisco offers fresh-baked pizzas straight out of a giant brick oven in a shipping container mounted on the back of a Freightliner heavy commercial truck.

In France, Claire & Hugo Cuisine nomade uses a red double-decker to catch the attention of tourists.

A number of Volkswagen Microbus/Kombi/Westfalia vans have been turned into food trucks, like this one spotted in Argentina.

Pop’s Popcorn in Seattle is cool no matter how old you are. It’s built from a 1931 Ford Model A.

The Planters NUTmobile promotes the famous peanut brand across the United States.

The Roving Mammoth Burrito-Snocat at Mammoth Mountain, in California, serves burritos to skiers and snowboarders.

This food truck is based on a Mercedes-Benz Unimog and can be seen in Helsinki, Finland.

Vintage pickup enthusiasts and pie lovers alike are sure to enjoy Under the Crust in La Jolla, California, which is integrated to a 1955 Ford F-100.

The Space Shuttle Cafe looks like an old space shuttle, but it used to be a Douglas DC3 military airplane that saw actual action in World War II.

And of course, there’s the iconic Weinermobile, which started criss-crossing the United States in 1936 and is considered today as the original food truck.
