Concept cars not only serve as inspiration for designers, but they also hint at future production models. Obviously, some are more spectacular or desirable than others—the stuff dreams are made of.

Here are 10 modern concepts we would love to see on the road.

Buick Enspire Concept
Buick enjoys a lot of success in China. At the 2018 Beijing Auto Show, the brand introduced the Enspire, a fully electric SUV concept with a range of 595 kilometres. It can reportedly sprint from 0-96 km/h in just four seconds.

Lexus LC Convertible Concept
This concept, which is based on the stylish LC coupe, was unveiled by Lexus in a world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit earlier this year. Chances are we’ll see it enter production in the near future.

Kia Imagine Concept
Just a few days ago, Kia stunned visitors at the 2019 Geneva Auto Show with an all-electric concept called Imagine. For now, this is just a design study, with no information about performance or range. Take a good look at the driver interface comprised of 21 ultra-thin, high-resolution displays arranged in a curved pattern.

Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept
Last year in Detroit, Infiniti presented the Q Inspiration Concept. Powered by a variable-compression turbo engine, this sleek midsize sedan concept was designed by Montreal’s Karim Habib.

Hyundai Le Fil Rouge
We first saw the Le Fil Rouge concept a year ago at the Geneva Auto Show and it’s supposed to define the styling direction of future Hyundai products. The Korean automaker said at the time that it was a modern interpretation of the 1974 Pony Coupe concept.

Honda e Prototype
Here’s a compact city car with a fully electric powertrain. The Honda e Prototype is said to deliver a range in excess of 200 kilometres. The retro looks impressed the crowd in Geneva, where it made its debut. A futuristic vehicle, for sure, cameras replace the side mirrors.

Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo
A bit like the Subaru Outback, the Mission E Cross Turismo is a high-riding, rugged-looking wagon. It uses an all-electric system that produces 600 horsepower and reaches 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. This concept debuted in Geneva a year ago.

Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow
Mercedes-Benz boldly introduced the EQ Silver Arrow during the Monterey Car Week. While the lines are futuristic, they are inspired by the classic W125 from 1937. Another big difference is that the old 12-cylinder engine is replaced by a brand new electric powertrain rated at 750 horsepower.

Volkswagen Tarok
In 2018, the São Paulo Auto Show hosted the premiere of the Volkswagen Tarok concept, a small four-door pickup with a 1.4-litre engine and 4Motion all-wheel drive. It wouldn’t be surprising to see this model enter production and hit the road… in Brazil.

Subaru VIZIV Tourer
Subaru premiered the VIZIV Tourer at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show. Equipped with the brand’s signature boxer engine and symmetrical AWD system, this concept is an evolution of the VIZIV series inaugurated in 2013.
