10 Modern-day Superheroes from the Automotive World

Superhero movies are all the rage these days. Led by Marvel’s Avengers franchise, these blockbusters pack a ton of action and otherworldly feats that blow fans away.

One could totally argue that certain cars and trucks have super powers, too. We’re not just talking about supercars. Here are 10 modern-day superheroes from the automotive world…

Audi R8
Standard on the R8 V10 plus, Audi LED headlights are combined with laser light technology. When conditions allow, the lasers activate and double the range of vision to the high beams alone. Hawkeye would be proud.

Lamborghini Urus
The SUV equivalent of Flash, the Lamborghini Urus is in reality a tall-riding supercar with five seats and a rear hatch. Generating 650 horsepower from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, it’s the fastest SUV from 0-100 km/h (3.6 seconds). Remember, it weighs 2,197 kilos!

Bentley Continental GT
The new Continental GT definitely has super powers, both under the hood and from its stereo. The Naim for Bentley audio system is unmatched in the automotive world, delivering up to 1,100 watts of crystal-clear sound.

Jeep Wrangler
The legendary Wrangler is a super SUV with unmatched off-road capabilities. From rocky mountains to the muddiest, most treacherous trails in North America, it delivers incredible performance.

Ram Heavy Duty
In the heavy-duty truck segment, numbers are everything, especially torque numbers (or should we say “Thor-que”?). Amazingly, one of them has finally reached 1,000 pound-feet! That would be the new 2019 Ram Heavy Duty, which can tow massive loads of up to 35,100 pounds.

Porsche 911 GT2 RS
The fastest production 911 ever made (700 horsepower, 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds) is also a deceleration master. It takes a mere 27 metres to stop from 100-0 km/h.

Tesla Model S
Tesla recently announced some big changes to its Model S. Most notably, the Long Range variant of this electric luxury sedan now comes with an all-new drivetrain design that allows it to drive up to 600 kilometres on a full charge, which is a new record for production cars.

Jeep Cherokee
When equipped with the 271-horsepower, 3.2-litre Pentastar V6, the Jeep Cherokee simply can’t be beat by any other small SUV when it comes to towing capacity. It will pull up to 4,500 pounds, making much larger vehicles quite ashamed of themselves.

Toyota Sienna
If you need interior space—lots of it—look no further than this Hulk-type Japanese minivan. The Toyota Sienna trumps every other non-commercial, light-duty vehicle on the road with up to 4,250 litres of cargo capacity.

Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
Even though this car was limited to a single model year (2018), we’re still including it on our list. Featuring a bunch of technical upgrades and a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 producing up to 840 horsepower with race fuel, the Demon was hell-bent on ruling drag strips with a quarter-mile time of 9.65 seconds—too fast for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) to even allow it in competition.
