As is the case each year, automotive manufacturers launch all-new models, or significantly redesigned vehicles, that bring innovative technology, eco-friendly powertrains and sophisticated infotainment systems. This year, there are many new 2020 models that we can hardly wait to drive. Here are 10 of them.

Mercedes-Benz GLB
This little urban crossover will position itself neatly between the GLA and the GLC in the German brand’s lineup. This robust-looking vehicle will be equipped with a turbocharged, 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 221 horsepower and, optionally, a third-row seat for a capacity of up to seven passengers.

Subaru Outback
A high-riding wagon that rivals midsize SUVs, the Outback gets an extensive makeover with a new, stiffer structure and an infotainment system that boasts a vertically positioned, 11.6-inch touchscreen. Aside from the base, 182-horsepower engine, a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder mill with 260 horsepower will also be available.

Ferrari SF90 Stradale
It’s the Italian brand’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle, equipped with a twin-turbo, 4.0-litre V8 and three electric motors, which produce a total of 987 horsepower. The SF90 Stradale is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 2.5 seconds!

Lincoln Aviator
The Aviator will confront a great deal of competitors in the three-row, midsize luxury SUV segment. To stand out, it will boast a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a twin-turbo, 3.0-litre V6 and an electric motor for an estimated combined output of 450 horsepower, along with a massive 600 pound-feet of torque.

Cadillac CT4
The CT4 will be the brand’s entry-level car. The most affordable versions will be equipped with turbocharged, 2.0-litre four good for about 237 horsepower, but the CT4-V variant will receive a turbocharged, 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine that will punch out 320 horsepower. An all-wheel drivetrain will also be available.

McLaren GT
the English automaker is seeking to redefine the high-lux grand touring segment with its new GT. It benefits from a mid-mounted, twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 that belts out 612 horsepower, promising 0-100 km/h blasts in as little as 3.2 seconds.

Polestar 2
It will only arrive in early 2020, but the Polestar 2 is much anticipated. This fully electric five-door compact benefits from 408 horsepower and a maximum driving range estimated at 440 kilometres. Polestar has become Volvo’s electrified performance division.

Toyota Highlander
The popular midsize SUV receives a major redesign for 2020, built on a new, stiffer and safer platform. Still offering room for seven or eight passengers, the 2020 Highlander gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen for its infotainment system, while the hybrid version boasts a combined city/highway fuel economy average of just 6.9 L/100 km.

Hyundai Venue
A subcompact-sized crossover vehicle, the Venue will rival the likes of the Kia Soul, Nissan Kicks and Toyota C-HR in Canada. It’s equipped with a front-wheel drivetrain and a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine that develops about 120 horsepower. As standard, the Venue offers an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Porsche Taycan
The production version of Porsche’s new fully electric sports car will be unveiled this fall, and its on-sale date is pegged for early 2020. Thanks to two electric motors, the Taycan will benefit from more than 600 horsepower and an all-wheel drivetrain, good for 0-100 km/h sprints of less than 3.5 seconds. It should also offer a driving range of about 500 kilometres.
