Top 10 Best-selling Cars in Canada, First Half of 2019

The decline of car sales during the first half of 2019 wasn’t just felt in the U.S. In Canada, a total of 984,613 light-duty vehicles were sold compared with 1,039,794 after six months in 2018. That’s a drop of 5.4 percent.

While SUVs and pickups fell a mere 1.3 percent, passenger cars experienced a significant loss of 14.6 percent. That being said, we need to recognize those that performed the best.

Here are the top 10 best-selling cars in Canada for the first half of 2019…

10. Kia Soul
Total sales during the first half of 2019: 5,937 units
An increase of 9.5 percent from the same period in 2018

9. Chevrolet Cruze
Total sales during the first half of 2019: 6,728 units
A drop of 53.4 percent from the same period in 2018

8. Kia Forte
Total sales during the first half of 2019: 7,851 units
An increase of 4.1 percent from the same period in 2018

7. Volkswagen Jetta
Total sales during the first half of 2019: 8,447 units
An increase of 47.3 percent from the same period in 2018

6. Toyota Camry
Total sales during the first half of 2019: 8,586 units
An increase of 12.9 percent from the same period in 2018

5. Volkswagen Golf
Total sales during the first half of 2019: 8,697 units
A drop of 22.1 percent from the same period in 2018

4. Mazda3
Total sales during the first half of 2019: 11 546 units
