It’s pretty obvious that the Tokyo Motor Show isn’t like any other on the planet. Here, Japanese automakers can let their creativity run wild regarding design and technological innovations—especially when creating a concept vehicle.

After walking through the show, in which many non-Japanese brands were absent, here are the strangest cars we’ve stumbled upon.

Mitsubishi Super Height K-Wagon Concept
Another Mitsubishi concept that picks up the popular Kei car trend in Japan, with an elevated roofline that helps maximize passenger and cargo space. With its very narrow body, just large enough to accommodate two people that will rub shoulders, we must admit that its look is, ah, particular.

Suzuki Hanare Concept
When automakers develop electrified vehicle platforms, they can end up with a completely flat surface on which they can build a vehicle. In the Suzuki Hanare Concept, we’re treated to a living room on wheels, accessible by a huge gullwing door. “Shut the door, the mosquitos are coming in!”

Daihatsu IcoIco
Another living room on wheels, the IcoIco excels in transporting passengers, even though in wheelchairs. The little vehicle also includes a robot named Nipote that provides “verbal assistance” to its occupants.

Fomm AWD Sports Concept
According to the specifications chart presented alongside this all-wheel-drive, fully electric vehicle, we’d benefit from an output of 27 horsepower and 826 pound-feet of torque. What?

Daihatsu WaiWai
The WaiWai is strange-looking, but cool, too. It’s like a Japanese version of Volkswagen’s legendary Bus. The WaiWai can seat up to six passengers.

The name of this fully electric little car pretty much speaks for itself. Do you like the front grille that seems to mimic those found on Jeep models?
