10 PSA Cars We'd Love to See in Canada

By merging with FCA, French auto group PSA will have an easy access to the Canadian market for Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Lancia, Opel and Vauxhall cars.

Here are 10 PSA cars and technologies we'd love to see here...

Peugeot 508 Hybrid
The 508 is an elegant and refined sedan available with a 225-horsepower plug-in hybrid system offering a range of about 40 kilometres in EV mode. Future Chrysler and Dodge sedans could gain from it, although it is FWD-only.

Peugeot e-2008
This small electric SUV is motivated by a 136-horsepower motor rated at nearly 200 pound-feet of torque. It's nimble and fun to drive with a range of more than 300 kilometres. Could Jeep use the technology in the next-gen Renegade?

Peugeot 308 GTI
Volkswagen is not the only company to use the GTI moniker. The 308 GTI is a sporty Peugeot hatchback with nearly 270 horsepower and, judging by the success of the Golf GTI and Golf R in Canada, it would be a hit here as well.

Peugeot e-Legend
This self-driving concept hints at Peugeot's wonderful EV future. It boasts 455 horsepower, 590 pound-feet of torque, all-wheel drive and hundreds of kilometres of range. Start dreaming now!

DS 3 Crossback
Formerly a performance sub-brand at Citroën, DS now operates on its own and offers a selection of dynamic cars with forward-thinking designs. The DS 3 is a sporty little crossover available in several configurations. Jeep could easily take inspiration from it to create the dynamic compact SUV many have been demanding for years.

Vauxhall Insignia GSi
Vauxhall used to be a division of General Motors and this car is very similar to the Buick Regal. However, it stands out with a twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 210 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque through an AWD system. While diesel is on the way out in North America, it could give Dodge and Chrysler fans another strong alternative.

Vauxhall Astra
With the elimination of the Chevrolet Cruze and Ford Focus in North America, Dodge has a nice opportunity to bring back the Neon or Dart with a new compact car based on the Vauxhall Astra. The latter is essentially a Chevrolet Cruze in disguise. Confused? We are, too.

Opel Ampera
The Ampera is nothing more than a rebadged Chevrolet Bolt. Of course, FCA could use a powerful electric hatchback with over 400 kilometres of range in its lineup.

Citroën C1
The C1 is a city car that can easily navigate through busy streets and tight parking lots while still showing some capability on the highway. Small cars continue to be popular in Quebec, particularly, so a Citroën-Fiat pairing would be great.

DS E-Tense
This sports car concept from DS is fully electric and boasts 400 horsepower. Dodge could learn a few lessons from it and resurrect the Viper as a true halo car.
