The highly anticipated 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show promised to deliver major new products and it did not disappoint.

The team at The Car Guide was on hand, as you know, and here we take a look back at our top 10 highlights from the event.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime
As promised, Toyota unveiled the anticipated plug-in hybrid variant of the RAV4. Capable of zero-emission driving for 60 kilometres, the new RAV4 Prime is Toyota’s first plug-in hybrid SUV and a direct rival of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, not to mention the upcoming Ford Escape PHEV.

2021 Mustang Mach-E
A few days before the big show, Ford unveiled the polarizing Mustang Mach-E. It offers a range of 375-475 kilometres depending on the battery, and up to 459 horsepower in GT Performance Edition trim.

2020 Nissan Sentra
As you can see, the 2020 Nissan Sentra marks a radical departure from the outgoing model, except for the V-shaped grille up front. It looks a lot like the new Altima, both inside and out. A new 2.0-litre engine replaces the boring old 1.8-litre unit. Look for quicker acceleration and better fuel economy.

2021 Kia Seltos
The Seltos becomes Kia’s new entry-level SUV, positioned below the Niro, Sportage, Sorento and Telluride. Both the platform and powertrains are shared with the Hyundai Kona. Pricing has not been announced yet but we're pretty certain it's going to sell in large numbers.

2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible
Just as spectacular as the hardtop model when it comes to styling, the LC 500 Convertible features the same exact powertrain. The 5.0-litre V8 engine is paired with a Direct-Shift 10-speed automatic transmission to produce 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. Unlike the coupe, however, the convertible will not offer a hybrid variant.

Hyundai Vision T
This plug-in hybrid SUV concept by Hyundai, called Vision T, signals a future production model and shows the design direction Hyundai wants to take for small urban SUVs. Too bad the company didn't provide any specs...

2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition
Dodge’s iconic muscle car was initially launched in 1970, which means it’s about to turn 50. To celebrate this milestone, FCA has created a limited-production Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition for 2020. Only 70 units will be sold in Canada, all of them based on the Scat Pack 392 Shaker model and identified with a serialized plaque. They will be exclusively painted in Go Mango orange similar to the original Challenger.

2020 Audi RS Q8
This wicked, coupe-style SUV shares its twin-turbocharged V8 engine with the RS 7 and RS 6 Avant. It produces 590 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 305 km/h. We've already taken a ride aboard the Audi RS Q8 on the track and it was a blast!

Volkswagen ID. SPACE VIZZION
Like all the previous ID. concepts, the Volkswagen ID. SPACE VIZZION is fully electric and built on the German automaker’s MEB platform. It produces up to 250 kilowatts (335 horsepower) and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. More importantly, an 82-kWh battery provides a range of up to 480 kilometres. The ID. SPACE VIZZION concept will inspire a series production model that will be presented at the end of 2021.

2020 Mazda CX-30
The all-new 2020 Mazda CX-30 will slot between the CX-3 and CX-5 as Mazda’s fourth crossover. Base GX models will use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. GS and GT models will get a 2.5-litre mill rated at 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet. The CX-30 will go on sale in January and you can be sure that the drive will be exciting.
