Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and everyone has different tastes. One might find something extremely attractive, while another might completely disagree.

Some of history’s most famous automobiles were so well designed that they’re almost universally acclaimed. Here are 10 of the most beautiful cars of all time.

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing
Ah, the 300 SL. Many consider it to be the world’s first exotic car. Launched in 1954, this German coupe has timeless appeal.

Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
Limited to just 18 units from 1967-1969, the 33 Stradale cost $17,000 whereas the average new car at the time retailed for less than $3,000. Today, this Italian beauty powered by a 2.0-litre V8 engine is worth over $10 million.

Alfa Romeo Disco Volante
The uniquely breathtaking Disco Volante is actually an Alfa Romeo 8C that was modified by coachbuilder Touring. Now extremely rare, it’s estimated at more than $500,000.

Ferrari LaFerrari
Time flies. This hybrid hypercar producing in excess of 1,000 horsepower is already seven years old. Yet the era-defining design is totally up to date.

Ferrari Dino
Technically, it’s not a Ferrari. Dino was an entry-level car brand launched by the Italian automaker in the 1960s and the model you see here is a Dino 246 GT. No matter what you call it, this car is just magnificent.

De Tomaso Pantera
A classic from the 1970s, this superb automobile was penned by the famous design studio Gruppo Bertone. Interestingly, it used to house a Ford engine.

Ferrari 250 GTO
The most precious car of all time, the Ferrari 250 GTO is a race car from the 1960s that’s currently valued at nearly $50 million USD. While performance is impressive, even by today’s standards, you can say the same about styling.

BMW M1
We’re still waiting for a worthy successor to the fabled M1 whose design wonderfully embodies BMW’s spirit in the 1980s.

Alpina B12
Alpina has been tuning BMW cars since 1965 including the gorgeous 8 Series coupe from the 1990s. The B12 also featured a 6.0-litre V12 engine rated at 424 horsepower and 444 pound-feet of torque. You can still find some in good shape for less than $50,000.

Maserati A6GCS Berlinetta
In the 1950s, the A6GCS Berlinetta was the quintessential exotic car. Derived from the Maserati A6, it featured a Gilco-tuned, race-ready chassis (to compete in the prestigious Mille Miglia) along with a more aerodynamic body crafted by Pininfarina.
