2021 Ford F-150: 10 New Features We Like

Published on June 26, 2020 in Top 10 by Frédéric Mercier

Ford has finally introduced the all-new 2021 F-150.

While it may look very similar to the outgoing model at first glance, don’t worry; there are plenty of new features and technologies to satisfy enthusiasts and customers.

We’ll highlight 10 of them on the next few slides. Take a look!

New front fascia
The design of the 2021 Ford F-150 marks a timid evolution, for sure, but the new front grilles and LED headlights give the truck a much more commanding look.

Hybrid powertrain
The rumours were true: The 2021 Ford F-150 is available with a hybrid powertrain providing a total range of more than 1,200 km and a towing capacity of more than 12,000 lbs.

More advanced engines
The five other engines are carried over from last year, but Ford assures they are more capable and efficient now. The official specs will be announced later.

Built-in generator
There’s an optional generator in the cargo bed to charge power tools on the go. Awesome!

Available 12-inch display
The interior of the 2021 Ford F-150 has been largely improved. The available 12-inch centre touchscreen is powered by the latest version of SYNC infotainment.

Active Drive Assist
Ford’s version of hands-free semi-autonomous driving technology makes its debut on the 2021 Ford F-150. This will reduce driver fatigue on long highway trips.

Over-the-air updates
Similar to Tesla vehicles, the 2021 Ford F-150 will offer over-the-air updates so customers can benefit from improved performance and functionality without stopping by their local dealer.

Sleeper seats
Since a number of workers take naps inside their truck, Ford has included sleeper seats that fold completely flat and provide support in the appropriate areas. Isn’t that nice?

A flat work space
F-150 owners don’t just take naps; they work quite a bit, too. Thanks to a retracting shift lever, the new centre console turns into a flat space where you can put your laptop or lunch.

A more practical tailgate
In the rear, the tailgate can be equipped with rulers, compasses and other accessories making it a work bench to do all sorts of manual chores like sawing wood.
