10 New Models Arriving at Dealerships This Fall

Published on August 5, 2020 in Top 10 by Guillaume Rivard

Following our overview of new models for spring and summer, The Car Guide presents 10 freshly introduced cars, SUVs and pickups that are expected to land in Canadian showrooms during the fall of 2020.

Once again, we’ve included different kinds of models for different needs and budgets.

2021 Acura TLX
For 2021, the TLX is coming back stronger and meaner with a second generation full of promise and potential. Inspired by the latest RDX crossover, the 2021 Acura TLX gets a standard turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It will arrive at Canadian dealerships early this fall with a base MSRP starting in the low $40,000 range. Unfortunately, the more exciting, 355-horsepower TLX Type S will make customers wait until the spring of 2021.

2021 BMW 4 Series
The new 2021 BMW 4 Series coupe will go on sale in Canada in October, though pricing remains unknown at the time of writing. It’s more potent than its predecessor, especially the M440i xDrive model with 382 horsepower, plus lighter and more rigid for even sharper handling. Do you like that giant new grille?

2021 Cadillac Escalade
The next-generation 2021 Cadillac Escalade is still on track to arrive at dealers this fall despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The regular Escalade will start at $89,798, while the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV will retail from $93,298. The interior is much roomier than before, the digital interface measures 38 inches and there’s a new 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder Duramax turbo-diesel option rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan
Soon after the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica (now available with all-wheel drive), minivan-loving families will welcome the new 2021 Chrysler Grand Caravan. It’s essentially the same minivan that’s sold as the Voyager in the U.S. since the 2020 model year, but FCA Canada wisely chose to retain the Grand Caravan name, which is way more popular here. It goes on sale later this summer starting at $37,995 (minus the big manufacturer rebates that will inevitably follow) and will land in showrooms this fall… just like the 2021 Toyota Sienna, now exclusively powered by a hybrid system.

2021 Dodge Durango
The 2021 Dodge Durango gets a host of improvements that will please drivers (and their families) with a fondness for technology and especially big power. It’s no wonder the company describes this SUV as a five-door muscle car. The first deliveries in Canada are scheduled for this fall, though pricing has yet to be announced. The new 710-horsepower Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, meanwhile, can be ordered this fall and production will stretch over six months beginning in early 2021.

2021 Ford F-150
For 2021, we get a brand new generation of the Ford F-150 that should land in showrooms in November if all goes according to plan. More technologically advanced and practical than ever, Canada’s favourite pickup even arrives with a hybrid variant. Check out 10 new features we like on the 2021 F-150.

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E
The polarizing, all-electric Mustang Mach-E crossover should begin deliveries by the end of this year. Available in five trim levels (Select, Premium, First Edition, California Route 1 and GT Performance), it can be ordered with a choice of two batteries for a range of 370 or 482 kilometres. Pricing for the 2021 Mustang Mach-E starts at $50,495.

2021 Genesis GV80
Unveiled at the beginning of the year, the all-new 2021 Genesis GV80—the first-ever SUV from the young Korean luxury brand—will arrive in Canada this fall as originally planned. This midsize SUV will try to steal market shares from the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and the like with prices ranging from $64,500-$85,000 (including freight and delivery, the Genesis at Home concierge service, complimentary scheduled maintenance, Genesis Connected Services, map updates and more for five years or 100,000 kilometres).

2021 Hyundai Elantra
The all-new, seventh-generation 2021 Hyundai Elantra was unveiled online on March 17. A striking four-door coupe profile, surprising technologies and lots of cutting-edge safety features should allow it to seriously threaten the better-selling Civic and Corolla in Canada, especially if the price remains competitive. An Elantra Hybrid joins the lineup and a turbocharged Elantra N Line is coming, as well.

2021 Kia K5
The all-new 2021 Kia K5 had its North American premiere a few weeks ago. It’s the next generation of the Optima midsize sedan and the name change reflects the automaker’s international nomenclature. The K5 will be available in LX, EX and GT-Line trim, the last one being a new addition aimed specifically at sporty drivers. We quite like the striking look, too. Pricing and full equipment details will be announced closer to its on-sale date this fall.

2021 Nissan Rogue
We’re adding an 11th model to our list. After all, this is the fourth best-selling model in the immensely popular compact SUV segment. The completely redesigned 2021 Nissan Rogue boasts more character, more technology, more space and more power. Safety is also a bigger focus now. At the time of writing, however, prices remain unspecified.
