Every year, German company BASF publishes its Color Report for Automotive OEM Coatings. Unsurprisingly, white remains number one with a global take rate of 39 percent.

It’s the same story in North America. In fact, white, black, silver and grey represent 77 percent of the market. That makes a lot of trucks and SUVs that all look alike.

Here is a top 10 list of the most popular car colours in North America…

2. Black – 21%

3. Silver – 16%

4. Grey – 11%

5. Red – 10%

6. Blue – 9%

7. Beige – 2%

8. Brown – 1%

9. Green – 1%

10. Other colours – less than 1%
