Top 10 Worst-Selling Vehicles in Canada in 2022

Published on March 15, 2023 in Top 10 by Nicolas Tardif

Automakers in Canada managed to sell only 1.49 million new vehicles in all of 2022, a drop of 9.1 percent from the previous year. We’ve already highlighted the top 10 best-selling vehicles in the country, but what about the worst sellers? Surprisingly, some of them are crossovers.

Excluding high-price, low-volume supercars and models that retired at some point during the year, here are the top 10 least popular vehicles in Canada in 2022.

10. Genesis G90 (71 units)

The G90 is all-new for 2023 and quite impressive, too. Just don't expect to see many on the road in Canada...

9. Audi TT (69 units)

Audi's two sports cars (R8 and TT) are on the way out. An electric successor to the R8 is planned, but no word about the TT.

8. Toyota Mirai (62 units)

Much more attractive than the first generation, the new Mirai is a hydrogen-powered electric sedan with extremely limited potential in Canada.

7. Fiat 500X (52 units)

The 500X will be put out of its misery next year as Fiat moves forward with the return of the 500 city car in all-electric form.

6. Lexus LS (39 units)

Another full-size luxury sedan that very few people want. Apparently, a new generation of the LS is in the pipeline and could have an EV variant.

5. Jaguar I-PACE (36 units)

While super-sporty and boldly styled, the I-PACE is just too expensive in the electric crossover segment.

4. Maserati Quattroporte (33 units)

Does Maserati have one too many sedans? It looks like it. Will the Quattroporte or the smaller Ghibli go first?

3. Jaguar XF (21 units)

The XF is a mere afterthought in the midsize luxury car segment as Jaguar continues to plummet.

2. Jaguar E-PACE (12 units)

Small luxury crossovers are fairly popular, but not this Jaguar. Supply chain issues in 2022 didn't help sales, either.

1. Hyundai Nexo (0 units)

A single copy of this hydrogen-powered crossover was sold by Hyundai in 2021, and zero last year. Should we rename it the Ghost?
