2023 Concours D'Lemons: The NOT Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance

Published on August 23, 2023 in Classic Cars by Gabriel Gélinas

Seaside, California—The annual Concours D’Lemons is, just like the name says, a showcase of automotive lemons taking place during Monterey Car Week. It’s the complete opposite of the much more prestigious and glamourous Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance and its multi-million-dollar cars.

It’s been a must-see event for the past few years, and while some of the vehicles on display can easily be identified, others are more complex to decipher due to their advanced deterioration or bizarre modifications. This year’s Worst in Show award went to a yellow-coloured Citroen DS 21 wagon supposedly designed as a tribute to the 1969 Beatles album Yellow Submarine.
